BHSc., MEd., Registered Psychologist

Founder, Owner, Cascade Health

Hello!

My name is Whitney (she/her) and I was born and raised on Treaty 7 land in Mohkínstsis, also known as Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The accessibility of outdoor activities, the sunshine, mountains, and nature is what I love most about living and working here. I grew up playing competitive sports and I enjoy movement of any kind, but my favourite kind is the outdoor kind. In my time away from work, I enjoy being outside and unplugging outdoors. I am a cyclist, bikepacker, and mountain biker (with a terrible sense of direction.) I like cycling so much that my bike is my primary mode of transportation, yes, even in winter. I am a yoga practitioner, traveler, hiker, and a lover of wild places, wild animals, and fresh air. I like books, brains, random facts, and have been with my partner for 20 years.

I graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2014 with a Bachelors of Health Sciences in Addictions Counselling. I completed a Masters of Education in Counselling Psychology with a specialization in Addictions and Mental Health from the University of Lethbridge in 2016. Currently I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Prior to my work in the therapy arena, and what feels like a lifetime ago, I worked as an EMT-A/Fire Fighter. These healthcare experiences shaped and continue to drive my therapy approach. To me physical, psychological, social, and spiritual health are all closely interconnected. I have over 16 years of experience working in the health care and mental health field and my specialization is working with my community, the LGBTQ+ population. I am passionate about my work and I believe my clients are the experts of their own lives.

Meghan McDonald (She/Her)

BA Psychology., MC., Registered Psychologist

Hi there!

My name is Meghan (she/her) and I have had the incredible experience of living and travelling in a variety of different countries. I have travelled through SE Asia, parts of Northern and Eastern Africa, Europe, South America, and North America. I love immersing myself in different cultures and learning all that I can about the people and places I am fortunate enough to connect with. I am grateful to call Calgary home and have access to those beautiful mountains! I am a mother of two energetic children, ages 8 and 10. The bulk of my work experience has always related to the helping profession in some capacity. I have had the honour of witnessing people make significant, meaningful change despite overwhelming barriers, which continues to champion my awe of people’s courage and abilities to elicit change in their lives. I am a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. I encompass a holistic, integrative, and affirming approach to my work with people.
